The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Janet C. Richards


 
Janet C. Richards is a Senior Examiner at the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago, an important player in the financial sector overall development of its country on the global market. With more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, Janet is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in regulation and supervision in banking, insurance and securities.  She has represented the Central Bank at regional and international banking conferences and presented papers on financial stability and systemically important financial institutions. Janet was selected to establish and manage the onboarding by the Central Bank of five (5) national institutions that were designated by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago as being of systemic importance to the economy and financial system of Trinidad and Tobago.
 
After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and History (Hons) from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, Janet launched her career in accounting and quickly rose through the ranks. She is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and is a Certified Forensic Public Accountant from the Forensic Certified Accountants Association of the United States.
 
A resident of Beaucarro, Trinidad & Tobago, Janet credits her success to having an open mind and finely honed leadership skills. She is Director on the board of one of the country’s most substantial government-owned utility company and its subsidiary. She is a firm believer in giving back, and uses her success to help her community, and contributes to the Heroes Foundation, which helps support disadvantaged students. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and is an avid runner.
