The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Dion Lucas


 
Mrs. Dion Lucas is a celebrated Teacher, Coach, Author, Songwriter, and Musician based out of Huntsville, Alabama. With over 15 years of experience in her career, she has her own business coaching wellness, athletics, nutrition, music and education. She presents healthy workshops across her region, provides suicide prevention tips, and loves helping and empowering the next generation.
 
A published author, Dion has done extensive book tours. Among her published works are, Flush It and Go With the Flow, in both English and Spanish (2017 Eng./Esp. 2018), and Stop Running Away: 10 Tips to Help You Bloom Where You Are Planted (2018). Her next books of Chopping Budget: Financial Tips for Future Growth, Musical Therapy, Water Therapy, and Eggstraordinaires: Extraordinary People Coming Out of their Shells are due out in Summer/Fall/Winter of 2019.
 
Dion has three degrees from the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC): Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction (2006), Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education (2004), and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (2004). She is a member of the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA). Also, she was awarded 2018 Teacher of the Year at Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama, 2010 Teacher of the Year at Liberty Academy in Liberty, Missouri, and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at UMKC in 2013.
 
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dion enjoys drumming, reading, writing, and traveling with family and friends.
