Carmen Contreras is the Academic Director of Let’s Start English School, a leading institution specialized in teaching the English language. With over 30 years of professional experience, she also serves as one of the faculty’s premier English teachers to the student body of primarily native Spanish speakers.
Having launched her career as an executive assistant, Carmen worked abroad as a bilingual secretary. Her work brought her to posts in in Peru, Jakarta, Indonesia, and South Korea, and taught her firsthand the value of being able to speak multiple languages. In 2004 returned to school and completed a bachelor’s degree in Education and ESL with honors from ICPNA. She has nearly two decades of classroom teaching experience, and has been in her post as academic director for the past 4 years.
Carmen credits her success to having perseverance, responsibility and honesty in all of her endeavors. She is dedicated to try to give children, teenagers and adults better chances to live and work in an increasingly global world. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and watching television.
