The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Shohreh Salimpour


 
Shohreh Salimpour is the Director of “Project and Development Services (PDS)” at JLL Canada, Toronto office where she is known for leading teams with extensive project management experience in Strategic Planning, Design, Construction, Captial Budget Planning and Asset Management with persistent focus on aligning design excellence with business objectives. She deploys her critical thinking backgrounds in both Architecture, Urban Planning and Civil Engineering disciplines to all assignments, in particular the ones focused on Building Science Engineering offering innovative approaches to new construction as well as rehabilitation of existing buildings.
 
She is highly skilled at bridging multiple disciplines to create a seamless client-facing experience, while ensuring consistent, cost-effective business administration practices. With over 19 years of well-rounded leadership experience in both Architecture and Engineering, Shohreh lead cross-functional teams delivering large-scale, complex projects within both private and public sectors, and uses her business acumen, strategic planning, and leadership to bring direction to the company and its project teams. Shohreh is a Foreign-trained architect, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), LEED Accredited Professional and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with advanced-level project management oversight and strong passion for sustainable and energy efficient design. She has had the advantage of working with Canadian private sector engineering consultants, general contractors and public sector at The City of Toronto. This gives her a unique perspective when managing various types of capital project portfolios. She is interested in continuous process improvements and working towards exceeding project objectives.
 
Shohreh has an accomplished career having been a Program Manager for the Buildings Division at Stantec, managing over 40 projects worth more than $350 M in construction value. She spearheaded the redevelopment of the Building Condition Assessment group, streamlining the national offices’ practices for seamless client experience and delivery. Shohreh was also a Senior Project Manager with the City of Toronto as a part of their Facilities Design & Construction Department. She also worked extensively in the Facilities Management – Asset Prevention Department for several years, developing client focused strategies, and strategic plans to address the City’s expansive portfolio of properties while balancing the multitude of stakeholders. Through her combination of architectural, contracting, engineering, and facility management experience, Shohreh brings a highly specialized skillset to every project.
 
Earning her Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Tehran, Iran; Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto, she is an Intern member of Ontario Association of Architects (OAA Intern), Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) and the Project Management Institute(PMI). She would like to connect with other professionals in the industry, learn from them and share her experience with others. She also strives to become better at her job and help others to be a leader in their field. Moving forward, she wants to get into public speaking and to mentor more women and help them grow in the industry.
 
In her spare time, Shohreh serves as a mentor to Iranian architects and engineers.
