The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Shannon Borg

Shannon Borg (they/them) is a life coach and consultant based out of Calgary, Alberta. Specializing in ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, goal setting and LGBTQIA2S+ issues, they have over 20 years of experience in the social services industry. As the founder of Authentica Wellness, Shannon offers online and phone-based life coaching to individuals. They are passionate about helping neurodiverse people and operate from a feministic perspective, encouraging clients to identify and work with their strengths as they apply solutions to manage and overcome their issues.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), Shannon went on to start a master’s degree in Family and Marriage Counselling from Trinity Western University. Currently, they are working toward completing a master’s, in Counselling Psychology, from Athabasca University.

Shannon is a mother of 6 children, including 3 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, and so is intimately familiar with the resources that exist—and also lack—to develop coping skills to successfully navigate society. She is also neurodivergent and is known for her kind, sensitive approach, working closely with clients to augment their strengths, enabling them to discover ways to make their lives more meaningful and authentic. She does not employ an ABA therapy method, and can counsel parents and clients on methods less likely to resulting in creating trauma. Additionally, Shannon is very empathetic to the struggles of women who have faced domestic violence, as they are also a survivor of domestic violence and childhood trauma.
