The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Member of the Year Vanessa Montoya, EdD


 
Dr. Vanessa Montoya is Adjunct Professor at Olivet Nazarene University. With over 17 years of experience in her field, she has taught at nearly every level and specializes in dual language, ESL, bilingual education, reading resource specialist, and Spanish as a foreign language. She is also a skilled coach in biliteracy and instruction, and highly experienced in coaching teachers on behavior management, backwards design, PLC implementation, curriculum development, and professional development.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Roosevelt University, Vanessa went on to complete master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, and in Bilingual Education. She then earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Walden University, and has taught students at the graduate level for over a decade.
 
Passionate about her work, Vanessa models the “I do, we do, you do” with teachers in classrooms as well. She is proud single mother of two grown children, one of whom has also gone on to become a Spanish teacher.
