The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Marcia Winkelman, MSc

 
Marcia Winkelman is President and Owner of The Wilds at Cedar Valley Golf Course, a popular 18- hole golf course catering to every type of golfer. Family-owned and operated, The Wilds is known for its beautiful scenery in a relaxed atmosphere, and is conveniently located near the south-west Barrie city limits.
 
In Marcia’s 20 years of managing The Wilds, she has been able to increase the annual sales of the course by 1,100%. She wears many hats, overseeing all staffing, accounting, marketing decisions as well as sales and booking of all weddings and events and catering the food as well. Marcia initially launched her career in event planning and coordination, and has utilized those skills to turn the course and its beautiful setting into one of the area’s most popular wedding venues, seating up to 100 people.
 
In addition to running The Wilds, Marcia serves as Science Department Chair and Biology Teacher at St. Peter’s Secondary School in Barrie. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Detroit and a Master of Science in Secondary Science Education from Niagara University.
 
Based out of Thornton, Ontario, Marcia credits her success to focus, passion and perseverance.
