Dr. Dawn Piper is Executive Director of Academic Advisement Consultants, C.A.O. University of Fort Lauderdale. A highly experienced academic administrator and leader with over three decades of experience in the field, she is also a visionary IT engineer with a track record of effectively managing a diverse IT-related projects at various higher and secondary educational institutions. In her current role, she is responsible for organizing and overseeing efficient use of department resources, as well as IT initiatives that improve the effectiveness of the University’s products and services for students. She also works with the IT Steering Committee to establish the strategic direction of the Information Technology department and establish partnerships with outside agencies and vendors. Additionally, she assesses the effectiveness of technology resources already in use and new systems that are being implemented.
 
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Barry University, Dawn went on to complete a Master of Science in Information Technology from Barry University. In 2015, she completed a Doctorate in Education Leadership focusing on Higher Education Administration from Argosy University. Her dissertation concerned The Physician /Patient relationships utilizing the iPad device and its Cloud Computing effects to increase better care systems for patients in South Florida (2015).
 
Committed to professional growth and development, she holds certification in the Moodle Online & Hybrid Learning Management System, Populi Online & Hybrid Learning Management System, and ACUE. Additionally, she has successfully undertaken studies in Pearson/CampusVue Course Management Administration Online & Hybrid Learning Management System, Cloud Architecture, and Cloud Based Application Implementation.
 
A well-rounded and multi-faceted individual, Dawn is a registered Notary Public and has serves on the C.I.T.I. IRB-Internal Review Board –UM/Argosy University Human Subject Research Protection Agent. She is skilled and knowledgeable in media, digital copyright, HIPAA, health informatics, human research subjects, students’ rights and patients’ rights, online environment course facilitation, Zoom video conferencing, hybrid and distance learning, course design, faculty development, course design, curriculum development, and iPad technology.
 
Based out of Fort Lauderdale, Dawn credits her success to focus, perseverance and hard work. Passionate about teaching and education, she believes that a merger of the fundamentals of pedagogy, critical thinking and student engagement establishes the essentials for individual practitioners in the field of Information Technology.
