Marni Stahlman has an exemplary 33-year executive management career in Central Florida in nonprofit medical, educational and mental and behavioral health care organizations. Her areas of expertise and influence range from revenue and donor development and management, stakeholder engagement and strategic alliance management, governance compliance and board development, government affairs and policy advocacy, public, media and community relations and grant writing and investor and foundation development. She is currently the President/CEO of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, Inc (www.mhacf.org) one of the oldest nonprofits in Central Florida (1946) and the leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental wellness and equity of access to mental health care by providing mental health services, support and information to the members of the Central Florida community. Additionally, she has been an Adjunct Professor at Rollins College, Winter Park, FL since 2017. From 2013-2019 Marni was President/CEO of Shepherd Hope, Florida’s largest free and charitable clinic, nationally-recognized as a leading nonprofit health and human services agency. Stahlman guided the organization to innovate and adapt to an ever-changing healthcare environment by synchronizing and leveraging a consortium of 2,900 licensed medical and general staff volunteers, three community hospital systems, 100 diagnostic/surgical providers and 23 multi-faith partners to provide free health care services to more than 221,000 patients over her tenure. Stahlman was notably the first woman CEO of a major hospital in Central Florida, Laurel Oaks Behavioral Healthcare, an 80-bed adolescent in-patient and out-patient facility with 150+ employees and an onsite Charter School. During her tenure she developed companywide clinical and performance management protocols for a national behavioral healthcare network, re-engineered the system’s clinical programs and initiated new on-site/home based clinical programs while successfully leading a JCAHO re-accreditation. Prior to this she was the Statewide Director of the Rehab Provider Network - Florida, Novacare, Inc., where she led a statewide initiative to create a rehabilitation therapy network for 100+ affiliate clinical practice sites in 40 Florida counties. Early in her career Stahlman was the co-founder of an innovative web based medical and educational content, business management and e-commerce platform, in collaboration with Nemours “Kidshealth.org” and the National Association of Child Care Providers, designed for early childcare educators and families, and has served as a consultant specializing in political and legislative consulting to associations, small businesses and individuals. Marni is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Orange, Orange County Public Schools and a 2018 graduate of the Orlando Economic Partnership’s Political Leadership Institute. Selected by the Orlando Weekly, in 2018, Marni was one of only 10 for their annual “People We Love” edition and consecutively in 2015 and 2016, she was recognized by the Orlando Business Journal as a CEO of the Year. In 2017 Marni was also recognized by the Women's Executive Council as Woman of the Year in Healthcare. In 2016 Marni received the prestigious Bud Bell Florida State Advocate of the Year award from the Florida Community Health Action Information Network. Additionally, she was selected in both 2014 and 2015 as a Women Who Mean Business nominee by the Orlando Business Journal and in 2014 was a Women of Distinction Nominee for the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council. From 2017-19 Marni was served as the Vice Chair of the Orange County Primary Care Access network and was also appointed by the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners to the East Central Florida Health Council. She served as a member of the Public Policy Council for the Florida Association of Free and Charitable Clinics from 2014-2019. She has been a member of Florida Executive Women since 2016 and currently serves as a Board Trustee. Marni served as the Vice Chairwoman of the Educational Facilities Authority, an appointment by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners from 2003-2018. She also served a two-year appointed term from 2012-2014 as the Chairwoman of the Disability Advisory Board for Orange County Government. In 2014 she completed her second three-year appointed term as a lay member to the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Ninth Judicial Circuit and from 2008-2012 was a Florida Supreme Court appointee to the Florida Bar's Citizen's Forum.
