My close family lives in Brazil. I live with my partner, and live close to his/our family.
I have a very varied background, and finally ended on Swine nutrition and production. I would say i faced several issues with segregation of women in th work, as when I started it was a much "man" type of job. I grew, nad had many opportunities to show my skills, and my special ways to face the issues the business I was in showed. I believe I have a lot to show on the area of production, management, and some I am not sure yet what they are. The view of the business production and how it affects us (women as well as men) is incredible. I wonder until today, how many people pay attention to different phenomena happen in the agriculture/animal food producing business in the last 10-20 years that changed how it is today. Most people in society have very little idea of the technology used, and still in development for a short future use. Many people still believe we grow animals in non sanitary conditions and less than what is the animal care given to animals today. We separate them from common access to prevent disease to spread between them. There are many vaccines used to prevent disease, and very little medications used, which are all prescribed by veterinarians, especially if still have use in the human medicine. It is a subject I can talk about for hours, with many different subjects in place: animal production, animal health, animal genetics, animal nutrition, specific traits of nutrition, specific models of management for production or for health, it is endless.
