The International Society of Female Professionals Recognizes Joan S. Evans

Joan Evans is Chief Financial Officer of Abundant Life Bible Church, a role that has brought her the reward and fulfillment of following her calling. She was always drawn to the financial side of things, and took great pride in being able to get the church finances in order when she took on the job.

Also an author, Joan enjoys writing and has seen her work published in anthologies, as well as self-publishing two books. She received the International Society of Poets Merit Award in 1994, and looking ahead plans to increase her writing time and projects.

She has had a diversified path to her present position as C.F.O. She has been in finance since elementary school managing the Tuck Shop, Treasurer in high school and Student Body President, served as Payroll officer and Office Manager in a Department Store and a law firm, and then in government accounting for nine years, before moving to her current position.

Her writing career also began in elementary school. She has been published in anthologies in the United States and received a Merit award for her poetry. She has self-published two books and is seeking to get a traditional publishing contract for her recent works. She has appeared on This Week in America with Ric Bratton for her book, The Beauty of His Presence, and is scheduled for a second interview in January, 2021 about her newest book.

Her book, The Darker Side of Love, was reissued last year in July by Page Turner Press and Media. Since then it has been advertised in the Los Angeles Times and Publishers Weekly, as well as in the inaugural issue of the Golden Eagle Seal Magazine for self-published authors. It has also been reviewed in US Review of Books and Hollywood Book Review, with a goal of appearing in the New York Times.
In addition, book 1 in her Children’s Book series was released in October of last year. It was published by Wingdon Books. The series is called The Arianna Series and the title of Book 1 is Arianna’s Amazing Wish. It is found on Amazon and from the publisher. Links to purchase both books are also on her website
